Blackthorn – Friday 14th September

Doors and bar from 7 pm; play starts at 7:30 pm

“What you think’s a completely different plant on ‘surface – it’s all from the same roots.”

The only two children born in a tiny North Yorkshire village for a generation cannot imagine ever being apart. Their lives are entwined as much to each other as to the feasts and festivals, the birdsong and the blackthorn bushes of home.

Written by West Yorkshire Playhouse writer in residence Charley Miles, Blackthorn was a finalist for the prestigious Susan Smith Blackburn prize in 2017. Charley was born and lives in Kilburn, North Yorkshire.

Her tender, outstanding debut play explores the tiny changes that shift like light on the landscape and pull us from the places and people we love.

Tickets: £10 and Under 16’s £5

Village reps: Mark (770419), Ruth (770293), Sarah (770282) or Heather (770050)
