The hall provides a meeting place for the whole community.  It is in regular use by community groups and entertainments are held throughout the year. Please see our What’s On pages for details. The hall, with kitchen and bar, is available to hire for your own event, parties, weddings, christenings and dances. The hall opened in 1982, replacing a temporary, wooden, ex-army First World War hut. Named Amerdale Hall out of affection for local benefactors, the Hammond family (who lived at Amerdale House in Arncliffe), the name was chosen to establish that the hall was for the use of the whole dale.

Work on planning the redevelopment of the hall has begun. Robert Groves Architects have undertaken a condition survey and drawn up preliminary plans. If you would like to help with this exciting project to update the hall’s facilities for the 21st century, either by making a donation, lending a hand or joining the management committee, please contact the Chair.
