Littondale Fete 2018

June 16th, 2018 in Amerdale Hall - Village hall for Littondale by admin 0

LITTONDALE FETE.  Saturday 11th August.

This afternoon of traditional Dales entertainment starts at 1 pm with Skipton Brass Band and the Littondale ‘4’ Road Race.  The Children’s Fancy Dress with a Nursery Rhyme theme is at 1.10 pm followed by a full programme of Fell Races, the Dog Show and Children’s races.  There will be all the usual attractions (White Elephant, Book stall and Tombola), the Bouncy Castle and  new attractions too.  Just in case all the activity makes you hungry, tea and cakes will be served in the Hall and there will be a Hot Dog stand and Ice creams on the green.  The day will close with the Strongmen and Strongwomen challenge – it is not too late to tone those muscles and work on your technique, or have a go at guessing how many seconds it will take the winning team to the complete the course, the ‘Second Guess’ forms are in both The Falcon (Arncliffe) and The Queens (Litton).

Don’t forget to think creatively for the craft competitions staged in the Village Hall.  This years competitions all have the theme ‘Littondale Life’ and there are competitions for a lego/duplo model, a sculpture made of recycled materials or a photograph (any size, colour or black and white), and classes for all ages (including adults).

Please bring your entries to Amerdale Hall by 12 noon on Saturday 11th August.

WE NEED YOU!  If you can help in any way; manning a stall or the car park, serving teas or providing a cake, Tombola prize or Silent Auction item, please do let Mark (770419), Ruth (770293) or Sarah (770282) know.  We would also welcome help to set up from 6 pm on Friday 10th August and to pack up on Saturday evening.  The Hall will be open between 6 pm and 8 pm on the Friday evening and from 9 am on Saturday morning for the dropping off of cakes, donations for the stalls & entries for the craft competitions.  This traditional Village Fete is the main annual fundraising event for Amerdale Hall (registered charity no. 500246) which serves all the communities of Littondale.  Your support is needed and very much appreciated.  THANK YOU!
